Why a licence?
To train in Budel, a KNMV basic sports licence or a MON motocross training certificate is, among other things, mandatory. Licences from other federations, Dutch or foreign, are not valid for training on KNMV circuits. FIM licences held by foreign riders only cover personal accidents, not liability towards third parties.
If you do not yet hold such a licence, you can apply for one via the KNMV website, where you will find all the information about licences. If you have held a licence before, you can apply for a new one directly using your login details.
Licences are valid from the moment of application until 31 December on all KNMV circuits. With a basic sports licence, the holder is insured for district and club competitions as well as for training sessions (riding a few laps on your own also counts as training).
The licence also gives the holder accident and liability insurance. The accident insurance pays out in case of disability or death. The liability insurance covers material and personal injury damage to third parties, subject to an excess. Damage to participants' own motorcycles is not covered. If you want to know exactly how it all works, please check with the KNMV.
The KNMV also requires riders to complete a rider's declaration. By completing and signing this declaration you agree to the house rules drawn up by M.A.C. De Kempenrijders/KNMV. Without this declaration, the KNMV will not process any claims. Nowadays this can also be done digitally via our registration form.
